Randy Bachman and Bill Henderson will join Country Music Award winners, Rick Tippe, Jessie Farrell and BC Country Music Hall of Famer Ron Irving, along with Nashville hit maker Ralph Murphy. The show will also feature, rising stars Kathleen and John of “The Higgins”, Alt Country sisters “Fera” and from Kamloops, singer/songwriter Art Pruce. Come and hear the hit songs performed as they were written, with just a guitar in an intimate setting. The workshop is designed for the songwriter who is willing to take a critical look at their work and learn valuable tools that the pros use to create No 1 songs! This is serious fun, and is not geared to entry-level songwriters. This opportunity is limited to 12 workshop participants from around the Province. To apply to participate, you must submit a 2 song CD with lyric sheets to the BC Country Music Association by April 21. (No cassette tapes). Industry professionals will jury all songs submitted and if you are selected, the workshop cost is $100 for BCCMA members. $130 for non-members. For those who are not selected for this workshop, but wish to ‘sit in’ and audit the course, the cost for the 2-Days is $40 for BCCMA members and $50 for non-members. Day one of the seminar will include an in depth critique of each of the 12 chosen songs with emphasis on song structure and what it really takes to write a No 1 Hit! At the end of the day the writers will be asked to take the tools and suggestions they have received and rework their songs to return on Monday. Day two will be final discussion and performance of the re-written songs. Please note, you must be able to perform your songs yourself or have a musician attending who can accompany you acoustically on guitar or piano.
